Patrick and I had been brewing the checklist for our Dream House + Venue for nearly a decade, so it was pretty specific.
Must Haves:PRIVACY = don’t see any neighbors
PROXIMITY = 30 - 45 mins from Portland
POTENTIAL = Dream Home, Airbnb, Events, Weddings, Retreats, etc
FIXER = we love a project, and want to lead a total transformation!
SPECIAL = when we feel it, we’ll know.

I stalked Redfin for years trying to find something special enough, but there was always a hitch, and of course, the timing was off - baby, restaurant, baby, Pandemic... Finally, in the summer of 2022, we found ourselves ready to start seriously shopping. After many months of Redfin scrolling, realtor blasts, and “mehs”, one link finally piqued our interest. I wrote back “That spread in Boring is pretty incredible. I know it’s crazy notice but any chance we could see about a tour this weekend? We have plans the next 3 weekends but would love to try to view it if possible…”
We did manage to get in to see it the next day, and we were blown away - it checked every box, and more importantly, the vibe blew us away the second we stepped on the land. If you’ve been here, you know what I mean.
I mean… we had to go for it. We would figure out how to pull this off… right?
