From Weddings to Weeds! Bringing in some reinforcements.
One person’s trash is another’s treasure, but the weeds on this farm? They bring joy to no one. Between the whirlwind of selling our old home, settling into the new one, and the pressure of hosting half a dozen weddings this year (!!), we finally bit the bullet and hired landscapers. Honestly, it’s been the best decision we’ve ever made — they’re breezing through jobs that would normally take me an entire day. Thankfully, they don’t have a muscular disease slowing them down… and no kids to distract them either. This big call is freeing up so much of our time, and we’re beyond grateful we can make it happen! I wanted to capture some photos of the farm before their cleanup — maybe it’s not so bad to some, but to us, it’s going to look incredible afterward.
Speaking of help, we’ve made a huge hire with Megan Kim, our new Event Director! She’s now managing the inboxes and production for weddings and events across all three of our venues — and, best of all, helping us create entirely new to-do lists to make each celebration even better than the last. We’re thrilled to have her on the team!
On the harvest front, we’re just a few weeks away from grape season, and I managed to stack another huge haul of figs. I also harvested our staghorn sumac to inspire some experiments back at Bar West — and the green walnuts are officially being processed into Nocino!
