But also… toddlers
Through those early days, our girls were just 2 and 5 years old — the epitome of joyful chaos. Parenting through this means that every task, no matter how small, takes twice as long and requires three times the patience. There are countless interruptions for snacks, scraped knees, bathroom breaks, and impromptu dance parties. Any fantasy we had of “working quickly” has quickly dissolved into a reality of moving at toddler pace.
But truthfully, they are our greatest teachers. They remind us to slow down and savor the process instead of racing toward completion. Watching them marvel at the bugs & the reality of farm life, and making fun amongst all the piles and projects, gives new meaning to what we were building.
