Pergola, patio, duck pen

Lucky for us, April didn’t bring too many showers, which meant we could make some serious progress outdoors. We reinforced the hillside behind the barn - where we felled trees back in November - took down an old rotten duck pen, and demoed the old, crumbling concrete beneath the pergola. Next we lowered and leveled the area, and graveled it to become a future ceremony site.

Meanwhile, the patio is coming along so beautifully. Between the pergola and the patio, we can finally see the vision for this property starting to take shape — one project at a time, it’s all coming together.

It’s hard to believe, but we’re still on track for our goal of hosting Airbnb guests this summer! The plan is to launch our listing and photos next month, with our very first guests arriving in July. It finally feels like all the pieces are starting to come together.
