Our second Fall

It was comforting to have certain things start feeling familiar this month, now that this is officially our second Fall. Ah yes - this is when the Dawn Redwoods begin to shed their needles, and here’s where the bunnies build their den. But even as routines settle in, we’re still uncovering brand-new surprises around every corner - New species of Salamanders! A robin’s nest! The coolest “bear’s bread” mushroom! Even a weird weed covering the pond... (that last one has become quite the nuisance)

But even with all that is becoming familiar to us, there is still so much NEW to see. And now that we’ve managed to slow down a bit on the projects, we’re starting to uncover them tucked under trees, down paths we’d never wandered before, and hidden in plain sight.

While we’ve been making time to observe, we’ve also been channeling our energy into smaller projects this fall : rearranging the dining room, finishing off the mudroom and office nook, and creating an “Adventure Library” stocked with bikes, floaties, and cornhole for our guests to enjoy.
